The LiL Benefit with Cosponsors Give and Live and Lucky Foo's was a huge success. We packed the house on Saturday April 26th for our Benefit for Ban Kingkaew orphanage. There was fantastic food, magnificent music and crazy comedy. It was all planned in less then two weeks and the efforts of all definitely paid off. Thanks to everyone who came and those who donated through friends or the internet. We raised a total of 59,000 baht ($1,800) US dollars. The LiL Foundation gave 15,000 baht, Give and Live gave 20,000 and the rest came from all other donators. There was also great raffle prizes donated such as fine wine from Sadamnern Limited; manicure/pedicure from Nice Nails; massage from Bor Nguen; oil, tea and natural supplements from Nutra Thai; t-shirts from the cosponsors, Scott Jones’ Life in the Laugh Lane book and 10 body piercings from Naga Tattoo.
The musicians did their thing as Warren Simpson and The Garden Restaurant owner Tim Davies eased the crowd into the groove with acoustic blues; Scott Jones' comedy slides and music got them laughing the tour of the USA and Thailand through his eyes; Aey from The Hug Bar performed splendidly with guitar, vocals and kitchen spoons. Naia Kete brought the magic as usual with original songs, and a new one that was written for the kids of Ban Kingkaew. Touching photos of Ban Kingkaew were taken by The LiL's Steve Rosenfield, and drew a few tears from the guests. You will be able to see the slide soon on the website www.thelilfoundation.org.
The LiL Foundation is looking to redo the bathrooms, repair broken bikes and get mosquito nets and still need your help. If you would like to donate to Ban Kingkaew please visit the donation page and put Ban Kingkaew into the comment field. You can see exactly where your money goes to if you check out either our site or our blog at www.thelilfoundation.blogspot.com.

The LiL Foundation is having a benefit on April 26th from 7pm to 11pm to fund many needed renovations at the local Chiang Mai orphanage Ban Kingkaew. Steve the founder of the LiL Foundation and volunteer/musician Naia Kete are currently in Thailand on their 1 month humanitarian mission. The Give and Live organization is also going to be teaming up with The LiL Foundation to help support the cause. The Give and Live is a local Chiang Mai NPO that has done some amazing work at other local orphanages and we are looking forward to having them team up with us. We are also lucky to have a phenomenal new restaurant called Lucky Foo's to host our event. Lucky Foo's is a 1 month old restaraunt/lounge. It has a relaxed atmosphere with a rock star feel. It has a lifetime of chef experience and the food proves it. Amy and Dean (owners) are going to be taking care of the stuff that soothes our stomach while Kete and others supply the stuff that sooth our souls. There will be a fine cast of musicians including Scott Jones, Liverpool Warren, The Hug Bars' Aye and hopefully we can get Dean to also chip in. Kete will be singing for the last time in Thailand for those of you who haven't had the chance to get a taste.
Baan Kingkaew Orphanage is The first charitable foundation in Chiang Mai province
to dedicate itself to the care of needy children. The orphanage was able to open on July 20, 1966, due to the generosity of Miss Kingkaew Wiboolsanti, who donated her home, land and a financial endowment to the foundation. Baan Kingkaew was therefore named in her honor.
The most important thing that is needed right now is new bathrooms at the orphanage. They had it estimated at around 100,000 baht ($3,100). That is our first goal. They do need 20 pairs of training wheels, They also need mesquito nets for their beds.
Please check out the donation page to help out. Every bit helps out a great deal. You can see our blog for these kids that you will be helping. They are amazing children and an incredible staff. Please help us help them.

I
want to thank everyone who attended the Benefit Show. We raised $290.00.
First I want to thank Mike at The Coffee Garden for allowing this event to take place and keeping the door open for more to come. He is also helping us out by supplying over 150 flip-flops for The Covered Feet Project.
I also can't forget my dear friend Dawn P. for putting me in contact with Mike and making this whole event happen.
The performances were amazing. We had Martin Purtill open it up and set the tone with some great music. Then came Naia Kete, I can't say enough about this woman. Her positive and inspiring music represents her state of being perfectly. She is amazing and everyone should check her out. Brandon Tyler, this man should be a comedian as well as musician. He's a riot and adds it all into the mix of his performance. Last but not least Lee Madeloni played percussion for everyone. His arms did not stop all night and he is a super talented musician.
I look foward to doing more shows with all of them and I am honored to have them a part of The LiL's first Benefit Show.

The LiL Foundation is going to be having a benefit on February 23rd 2008 at The Coffee Garden in Sacramento, CA to help fund our trip to Southeast Asia. The benefit will be 8$ minimum donation and we will have some great musicians attending.
Due to our positive turn out we were able to raise $725. It was The LiL Foundations first Fund Raiser and we're excited with the results. We also want to thank everyone who bought tickets as their name is listed on our 1 million $1 donation page. We couldn't have done it without them.
We also want to give another special thanks to Mark Leffler for letting us use the Rocknasium for the evening. His continuing support is greatly appreciated.
Jan-11-08
Thanks to Mark Leffler at the Rocknasium, and his tremendous support for The LiL Foundation we were able to raise $205.00. Mark agreed to donate 50% of all walk in sales to our cause.
We also had a clothing drop spot for the Fernley, Nevada flood victims. Valerie Crain, a friend of the LiL Foundation drove up to NV to deliver all the goods that were collected. A huge thanks to the Golden Valley Harriers for dropping off 5 bags of running shoes. We definitely hope to work with them in the future. They were a huge contribution to our efforts.

The
LiL Foundation is gathering up as much supplies as possible to help out the people of Fernley, Nevada due to the outcome of the January 5th Truckee Canal breach. It flooded an area of approximately two square miles affecting over 800 homes in Fernley's southeast neighborhoods of Green Valley, Tuscany Villa's, Aspen Meadows, Shady Grove, and the Farm Lane area along Cottonwood Lane and Farm District Road. The supplies that are needed are as follows; clothing of any size, footwear, blankets, canned goods that don't require cooking or dry foods that won't spoil. Also books for children and toiletries would be helpful.
